Instrument Library at Glacial Hills Elementary
Hi, I’m Shari Opdahl, the band teacher at Glacial Hills Elementary. I have some students that would like to play an instrument but can’t afford one, so I was brainstorming on how to solve this problem and I came up with the idea of an instrument library. This is how it would work. If you have a gently used instrument at home that is collecting dust you could bring it to school and put it into the instrument library. The students could check the instrument out and use it for the school year. The students would have to pay a rental fee to the school to cover any maintenance and up keep of the instrument. Also having them pay a small fee will hold them responsible for taking care of the instrument. If you donate your instrument to the library we would keep track of where your instrument is at all times and also you would be able to come and get your instrument anytime you like. If you have any questions give me a call at school. 239-3840.
