The 8^th and 9^th grade Science class is looking for 50+ used taper-type candles.  You might have stubs from Halloween or Christmas or, perhaps, your church throws them away.  Also, the class is looking for clear 2 liter pop bottles (50 – 100).   Please send whatever you can spare with your student to school and drop them off in Mrs. Peterson’s room #B137.

Glacial Hills Elementary and Minnewaska Schools will be starting two hours late on Tuesday.

The Starbuck Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual meeting on January 30th of 2010. Dinner and meeting will be at the Starbuck Community Center. There is a 50% discount on membership fees for first time members. The meeting will begin with a social hour at 6:00 and dinner being served at 6:30. If you… are interested in membership or the dinner ($15 per person) contact Lori at Touch of Class in Starbuck or mail checks to Box 234 by January 23rd.

The Pope County Boy Scouts will host a Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday February 6th from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Minnewaska Area High School Cafeteria.  The Girl Scouts will host a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 7 2010 from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Senior Center.  The cost is $6 for Adults and $4 for children ages 10 and under for each fundraiser.  Any scouts wearing scout insignia will receive a .50 discount.

Central Square will present Church Basement Ladies, a professional production of a really funny musical comedy.  The one and only performance will be held on Sunday, January 10 at 2:00pm.  Don’t miss this show!!!  Tickets are $25 for adults, $5.00 for students 18 and under.  Please call the office at 320-634-0400 for reserved seating.  Tickets will also be available at the door.
